CATALCA WIND POWER PROJECT
“Catalca Wind Power Project”, located in Çatalca district of İstanbul province, feeds renewable electricity into the Turkish grid. The plant is in operation since June 2008 with a generation capacity of 60 MW. The emission reductions during the first phase is 130,000 ton CO2 per year.
Beyond the environmental benefits, the Çatalca Wind Power Project contributes to sustainable development in the region by: supporting local school and villages, supporting local football team and festival, improving local roads, increase in local employment, increase of electricity quality in the region, financial support of local oil wrestling competition.
